Always Vote Life

"This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him." Deuteronomy 30:19

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." Proverbs 14:34

Without Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness aren't possible.

  1. gr8 videos, it seems that anything hard or potentially harmful to Obama is above his paygrade in interviews, but he is perfectly willing to state his true and real beliefs in front of fellow believers.

  2. It makes me sad the the word "Life" has only become associated with American babies in the womb. Life also encompasses millions of AIDS orphans (part of the 143 million orphans world wide), those dying of poverty and hunger all over the world, and those dying of sadness and loneliness like millions of people in nursing homes(or maybe even your next door neighbor). Of course abortion is an important issue, but I don't think that the Bible verse about choosing "life" was simply addressed to one culture in one country in one particular time. Why are Christians not spending this much time and energy on other issues of life as well. Life continues beyond the womb and beyond the borders of this country. It is so much bigger than politics and law. Jesus never used law (or even tried to influence laws or political leaders) to create the change that he did in his time.

  3. When you devalue a life, you devalue all life.
Planned Parenthood used to say they wanted to make every child a "wanted" child. They argued that abortion would cut the rate of child abuse. Instead child abuse is soaring. It's only logical. When you can disregard a child's life and rights in the womb, you can disregard a child's life and rights later.

Of course the Bible is not only speaking to one nation and one culture. God's Word is eternal. He's speaking to us today in every culture and nation. CHOOSE LIFE. Simply because God tells more than one doesn't mean I can disregard it as irrelavent to me and my culture. I live here.

In regards to Jesus influencing laws and political leaders, I suggest you read the gospels with this in mind: the Pharisees, Sadducees, and priests as well as others were the rulers and political leaders of the day. He confronted them often.

John 1:1-5, 14 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. ... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. As the Word of God, Jesus gave us the Ten Commandments and imprinted them on our hearts. I call that influencing.
